A small house built of wood, straw, lime and salvaged materials, stands in the historic context of the small town of Laveno on Lake Maggiore. Shelter was conceived as a part of the 2023 IJssel Biennial, an exhibition of art in public spaces along the Ijssel River in the Netherlands. This particular edition, titled Ground-Notes (Grondtonen) zooms in on the relationship between human and nature, and deals with the impact of climate change on our landscape. The outdoor exhibition featured 27 temporary, monumental works of art created by international artists, interconnected through a bicycle route spanning over 100 kilometers.
